          Jorhat town is situated at the Southern sides of N.H-37 and about 300 Km away from Guwahati, the  capital city of Assam . It is directly link with other part of the country by a Airport and railways. The global location of Jorhat is 94012/ East and 26044/North latitude and situated at the Southern bank of Brahmaputra river and is 72meter above the mean sea level. The Jorhat municipal board constituted in the year 1909 with a view to rendering civic amenities to the town living people. The Jorhatian are proud of its past glory of its last capital of greatest Ahom kingdom who always dreams and expose to be rather different from other people of the country. The original town area widened to 9.20 Sq. Km having 19 wards with a population of about 1.45 lakhs at present. The Jorhat is a very fast growing and a dreaming city to a second largest in Assam marking second metropolitan. The Jorhat municipality is always looking forward to provide latest quality of amenities to the people like renewable energy, storm water drainage system, better walkable and motorable roads ,pur drinking water and better street lighting. It is also planning for a solid waste management plan to fight for waste related dieases.The municipality has also equipped with modern tools for roads, drain development, germs fighting, street light maintaining, cess pooler and solid waste career. The local authority is stressing upon good marketing, better traffic and pedestriel  facilities. Under the line of 74th Constitution amendment the government of Assam is giving stress to dynamise the urban local bodies which were drawn under the crisis of fund born on tax of the rate payers.

        We also aware to give a clean and systematic city to the people with our endeavor and exploring all the available resources
